Probably one of the most successful vacation ownership projects of all time in Europe, Four Seasons Country Club in Quinta do Lago was the forerunner of two other likewise-named resorts in the Algarve and another one in Marbella, designed, developed and sold during the eighties and nineties. Under the strong leadership of MD Ian Pugsley, Four Seasons Country Club has gone from strength to strength, with constant investment in refurbishment and rebuilding, keeping everything in top condition and in accordance with the needs of our times. Having been responsible for the launch and promotion of the Four Season’s projects in the eighties, it was great to have been invited back to carry out an identity revamp, starting with the logo and carrying through to new sales and marketing materials, some of which are shown on this page. To all of the team at FSCC, keep up the good work! Fred, I have seen the brochures, they are beautiful! Ian Pugsley – MD Four Seasons Country Club
Jutta has some great architectural projects under her hat, within the Golden Triangle where her office is located – well done! On designing this hand-out brochure for her, focussed on renovations, it was interesting for us to see how she can take an old-drab villa and turn it into something fresh and new – enormously increasing its value, both as a home and as an investment. Congrats also on her efforts in helping local children in need in the Algarve with her yearly Angels Charity Programme, organised in conjunction with ACCA.
A digital breath of fresh air for the renewed internet presence of the long established Vale de Milho, a beautiful 9 hole par-3 course, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, close to the village of Carvoeiro. The new website is of particular interest due to its Responsive Design, meaning it was programmed and designed to adapt itself for legibility and viewing on different devices, from a full size desktop to hand-held devices like tablets and smartphones.
While being legible on smaller devices, where so many websites still fail, it also does away with Flash, a programming software that makes for easy, inexpensive design but does not work on Apple hand-held devices – not much use if you cannot see it! Flash is not good for the Search Engines (SE) either as they cannot read inside a Flash built website to register the content and improve SE ranking on Google etc. When sourcing design and programming of websites, experience counts we say.
To open a new business anytime in life is a challenge, to open a new business at the bottom of what is probably the biggest recession that the Algarve has known since the revolution, is madness some would say. Others, like Paul and Margo say, let’s go for it! The corks started to be pulled at Tapas & Vinho early summer. ‘Not another restaurant’ one heard the doomers and gloomers uttering, well they can now eat and drink those words as the concept that Paul and Margo came up with has been a great success, with both tourists and residents alike.
Located in the Golden Triangle, Tapas & Vinho has become a meeting spot, its warm and cozy atmosphere and unique ambience, a serious wine cellar where you can browse around to choose and indeed purchase to take away, and everything served with Paul’s own tasty range of tapas. ‘We have to say that Fred, André and their team took our brief and did a fantastic job of putting together a cohesive image and as always a really prompt service at a great price’ Paul & Margo
